DESCRIPTION

Belladamma Volga is a named character that is a single model. She is armed with a Timeworn Scimitar.

If this model is included in a Soulblight Gravelords army with the VYRKOS DYNASTY lineage keyword, this model is treated as a general in addition to the model that is chosen to be the army general.

MOUNT: Belladamma’s wolves attack with their Lupine Fangs and Claws.

ABILITIES

The Hunger: Soulblight creatures crave the taste of blood and are empowered when they drink deep from the veins of defeated foes.
At the end of the combat phase, if any enemy models were slain by wounds inflicted by this model’s attacks in that phase, you can heal up to D3 wounds allocated to this model.

First of the Vyrkos: Belladamma wields all manner of strange and potent sorceries, many known only to the Elders of the Vyrkos. She uses these to bind packs of Dire Wolves to her service that will unthinkingly sacrifice themselves to protect their savage mistress.
Add 1 to casting, dispelling and unbinding rolls for this model. In addition, roll a dice before you allocate a wound or mortal wound to this model if it is within 3" of any friendly DIRE WOLVES units. On a 3+, that wound or mortal wound is allocated to 1 of those units instead of this model.

MAGIC

Belladamma is a WIZARD. She can attempt to cast 2 spells in your hero phase and attempt to unbind 2 spells in the enemy hero phase. She knows the Arcane Bolt, Mystic Shield, Lycancurse and Under a Killing Moon spells.

Lycancurse: Singling out a choice foe, Belladamma’s gnarled hand curls into a fist, lupine eyes watching as her victim’s bones are crushed and warped into a form more pleasing to her.
Lycancurse has a casting value of 7. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy unit within 18" of the caster that is visible to them. That unit suffers D3 mortal wounds. If any models in that unit were slain by this spell, before removing the last slain model, you can add 1 unit of DIRE WOLVES to your army. The number of models in the new unit must be equal to the number of models in the enemy unit that were slain by this spell. Set up the new unit within 3" of the slain model’s unit, and then remove the slain model from play.

Under a Killing Moon: The skies clear as a full and eerie moon rises to illuminate the battlefield. A synchronised howl echoes far and wide as the bestial warriors of the Vyrkos unleash their rage.
Under a Killing Moon has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast, until your next hero phase, if the unmodified hit roll for an attack made with a melee weapon by a friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS unit wholly within 12" of the caster is 6, that attack inflicts 2 hits on the target instead of 1. Make a wound and save roll for each hit.

COMMAND ABILITIES

Pack Alpha: The Dire Wolves of Belladamma’s pack are amongst the most savage of their kind and will fall upon their foes with a slavering intensity.
You can use this command ability at the start of your hero phase. If you do so, pick 1 friendly DIRE WOLVES unit wholly within 12" of this model. Until your next hero phase, that unit is eligible to fight in the combat phase if it is within 6" of an enemy unit instead of 3", and it can move an extra 3" when it piles in.

You can use this command ability at the end of your movement phase. If you do so, pick 1 friendly SUMMONABLE DEADWALKERS unit that has been destroyed. A new replacement unit with half of the models from the unit that was destroyed (rounding up) is added to your army. Set up that unit wholly within 9" of a friendly model with this command ability and more than 9" from any enemy units. Each destroyed unit can only be replaced once – replacement units cannot themselves be replaced.

At the end of your movement phase, if this model has been slain, roll a dice. On a 4+, you can set up this model anywhere on the battlefield more than 9" from all enemy units, with all wounds allocated to it removed.

If this model is included in a Soulblight Gravelords army with the AVENGORII DYNASTY lineage keyword, this model is treated as a general in addition to the model that is chosen to be the army general.

FLY: Lauka Vai can fly.

ABILITIES

Champion of the Avengorii: Lauka Vai’s masterful martial prowess and monstrous beast-form render her an unholy terror upon the battlefield.
After this model makes a charge move, you can pick 1 enemy unit within 1" of this model and roll a number of dice equal to the charge roll for that charge move. For each 5+, that enemy unit suffers 1 mortal wound.

Nightmare’s Miasma: The strange curse of the Vengorians sees shining blades and hallowed relics rust and soften in their presence.
While an enemy unit is within 3" of any friendly models with this ability, worsen the Rend characteristic of that unit’s melee weapons by 1 (to a minimum of ‘-’).

Undeniable Impulse: Lauka Vai fights a constant internal battle to control her bestial nature. It is not a battle she always wins.
At the start of your hero phase, roll a dice for this model. If the roll is equal to or less than the number of the current battle round, until your next hero phase, this model can run and still charge later in the same turn. However, this model cannot use command abilities until your next hero phase.

MAGIC

Lauka Vai is a WIZARD. She can attempt to cast 1 spell in your hero phase and attempt to unbind 1 spell in the enemy hero phase. She knows the Arcane Bolt, Mystic Shield and Death’s Downpour spells.

Death’s Downpour: Lauka draws upon the corrupt ending-magic running through her veins before lifting her blade skyward, summoning a deluge of slippery gore to wrong-foot her adversaries.
Death’s Downpour has a casting value of 8. If successfully cast, charge rolls made for enemy units within 12" of this model are halved until your next hero phase.

COMMAND ABILITIES

A Queen Amongst Monsters: The Mother of Nightmares is followed by a menagerie of twisted vampires and monstrous undead beasts, all of whom seem empowered by her very presence.
This model can issue this command at the start of your hero phase. If it does so, pick 1 enemy unit that is visible to this model. Until your next hero phase, add 1 to hit rolls for attacks made with melee weapons by friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS MONSTERS that target that enemy unit.

This model is a WIZARD. It can attempt to cast 1 spell in your hero phase and attempt to unbind 1 spell in the enemy hero phase. It knows the Arcane Bolt, Mystic Shield and Blood Siphon spells.

Blood Siphon: With a contemptuous gesture, the Sanguinarch calls forth a torrent of blood from their victim’s eyes, nose and mouth.
Blood Siphon has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy HERO within 12" of the caster that is visible to them and roll a dice. On a 1-2, the target suffers 1 mortal wound. On a 3-4, the target suffers D3 mortal wounds. On a 5-6, the target suffers D6 mortal wounds.

BATTALIONS

This warscroll can be used in the following warscroll battalions:
 • Red Banqueters

DESCRIPTION

A Coven Throne is a single model ridden by a Vampire Lady armed with a Predatory Bite and Stiletto.

MOUNT: This model’s Spectral Host attacks with their Spectral Claws and Blades.

COMPANION: This model is accompanied by Handmaidens who attack with their Needlesharp Poniards. For rules purposes, they are treated in the same manner as a mount.

FLY: This model can fly.

Frightful Touch: The malign spirits that surround the Coven Throne can freeze an opponent’s blood with a single touch.
If the unmodified hit roll for an attack made with this model’s Spectral Claws and Blades is 6, that attack inflicts 1 mortal wound on the target and the attack sequence ends (do not make a wound or save roll).

Scrying Pool: Within this pool of shimmering, enchanted gore, the Vampire Lady foresees the shape of the battle to come.
Once per turn, you can re-roll 1 hit roll or 1 wound roll for an attack made by this model or 1 save roll for an attack that targets this model.

MAGIC

This model is a WIZARD. It can attempt to cast 1 spell in your hero phase and attempt to unbind 1 spell in the enemy hero phase. It knows the Arcane Bolt, Mystic Shield and Shudder spells.

Shudder: Staring into their eyes, the caster clouds her prey’s mind and instils fear into their heart.
Shudder has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy unit within 12" of the caster that is visible to them and roll 3D6. If the roll is greater than that unit’s Bravery characteristic, this model cannot be picked to be the target of any attacks made, spells cast or abilities used by that unit until your next hero phase.

COMMAND ABILITIES

Tactical Insight: The Vampire Lady and her Handmaidens employ their divinatory abilities to manipulate and aid their undying servants.
You can use this command ability at the start of your hero phase. If you do so, pick 1 friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS unit wholly within 12" of this model. Until your next hero phase, add 1 to hit rolls and wound rolls for attacks made by that unit and add 1 to save rolls for attacks that target that unit. The same unit cannot benefit from this command ability more than once per phase.

Mannfred von Carstein is a named character that is a single model. He is armed with Gheistvor and a Sickle-glaive.

If this model is included in a Soulblight Gravelords army with the LEGION OF NIGHT lineage keyword, this model is treated as a general in addition to the model that is chosen to be the army general.

MOUNT: Mannfred von Carstein’s dread abyssal, Ashigaroth, attacks with its Ebon Claws.

COMPANION: Mannfred von Carstein is accompanied by a host of spirits that attack with their Spectral Claws and Daggers. For rules purposes, they are treated in the same manner as a mount.

FLY: Mannfred von Carstein can fly.

Armour of Templehof: This suit of gothic armour is laden with many a fell enchantment, designed to protect its paranoid bearer from harm.
The first wound or mortal wound allocated to this model in each phase is negated.

Sword of Unholy Power: This unholy blade drinks deep of its victim’s souls, bolstering Mannfred’s power and that of his risen minions.
If any enemy models are slain by wounds inflicted by this model’s Gheistvor, until the end of that phase, add 1 to the Attacks characteristic of melee weapons used by friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS SUMMONABLE units while they are wholly within 12" of this model.

Mortarch of Night: Mannfred’s cunning and tactical nous is legendary, his ability to exploit even the briefest of opportunities rightly infamous throughout the realms.
At the start of the combat phase, if this model is within 3" of any enemy units, you can remove this model from the battlefield and set it up again anywhere on the battlefield more than 9" from all enemy units.

Frightful Touch: The malign spirits that surround Mannfred can freeze an opponent’s blood with a single touch.
If the unmodified hit roll for an attack made with this model’s Spectral Claws and Daggers is 6, that attack inflicts 1 mortal wound on the target and the attack sequence ends (do not make a wound or save roll).

MAGIC

Mannfred von Carstein is a WIZARD. He can attempt to cast 2 spells in your hero phase and attempt to unbind 2 spells in the enemy hero phase. He knows the Arcane Bolt, Mystic Shield and Wind of Death spells.

Wind of Death: Mannfred conjures a gust of spectral wind that tears the souls from the bodies of any who feel its chilling bite.
Wind of Death has a casting value of 7. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy unit within 18" of the caster that is visible to them, and roll a dice for that enemy unit and each other enemy unit within 6" of that enemy unit. On a 3+, that unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.

COMMAND ABILITIES

Vigour of Undeath: Lifting the Sword of Unholy Power high, Mannfred flexes his will and sends his servants forth with redoubled fervour.
You can use this command ability once per turn in your hero phase. If you do so, add 1 to hit and wound rolls for friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS units wholly within 12" of this model until your next hero phase.

DESCRIPTION

Nagash is a named character that is a single model. He is armed with Zefet-nebtar, Alakanash and the Gaze of Nagash.

COMPANION: Nagash is accompanied by a host of spirits that fight with their Spectral Claws and Daggers. For rules purposes, they are treated in the same manner as a mount.

FLY: Nagash can fly.

WARMASTER: If this unit is included in an Ossiarch Bonereapers army, it is treated as a general even if it is not the model picked to be the army’s general.

ABILITIES

Alakanash, the Staff of Power: This staff is capped with gems of purest Shyishan realmstone.
Add the Staff of Power value shown on this model’s damage table to casting, dispelling and unbinding rolls for this model. In addition, this model can attempt to cast Arcane Bolt any number of times in the same hero phase, even if another WIZARD has already attempted to cast the spell in that phase.

Invocation of Nagash: With but a thought, Nagash can call forth fresh minions to assail his foes.
At the start of your hero phase, if this model is on the battlefield, you can pick up to 5 different friendly SUMMONABLE units or friendly OSSIARCH BONEREAPERS units in any combination. For each of those units, you can either heal up to 3 wounds that have been allocated to that unit or, if no wounds have been allocated to it, you can return a number of slain models to that unit with a combined Wounds characteristic of 3 or less.

Frightful Touch: The malign spirits that surround Nagash can freeze an opponent’s blood with a single touch.
If the unmodified hit roll for an attack made with this model’s Spectral Claws and Daggers is 6, that attack inflicts 1 mortal wound on the target and the attack sequence ends (do not make a wound or save roll).

Morikhane: This ensorcelled armour protects Nagash from arcane as well as physical attacks and can even cause an intense magical backlash on those that dare strike him.
Roll a dice each time you allocate a mortal wound to this model. On a 1-3, nothing happens. On a 4-5, that mortal wound is negated. On a 6, that mortal wound is negated and the attacking unit suffers 1 mortal wound.

The Nine Books of Nagash: Over his impossibly long existence, Nagash has collected a vast library of esoteric lore.
The Nine Books of Nagash allow Nagash to cast extra spells in your hero phase and unbind extra spells in the enemy hero phase. The number of extra spells he can attempt to cast or unbind is shown on this model’s damage table.

MAGIC

Nagash is a WIZARD. He can attempt to cast 3 spells in your hero phase and attempt to unbind 3 spells in the enemy hero phase (he can also attempt to cast and unbind extra spells due to the Nine Books of Nagash ability). He knows the Arcane Bolt, Mystic Shield, Hand of Dust and Soul Stealer spells.

Hand of Dust: It is said that the touch of Nagash can wither and age any mortal, turning them to little more than a pile of dusty bones in mere moments.
Hand of Dust has a casting value of 8. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy model within 3" of the caster. Then, take a dice and hide it in one of your hands. Your opponent must pick one of your hands. If they pick the one holding the dice, the spell has no effect. If they pick the empty hand, the enemy model is slain.

Soul Stealer: Nagash can siphon souls from the living to heal his own wounds.
Soul Stealer has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy unit within 24" of the caster that is visible to them and roll 2D6. If the roll is greater than that unit’s Bravery characteristic, it suffers D3 mortal wounds. If the roll is at least double that unit’s Bravery characteristic, it suffers D6 mortal wounds instead. You can heal up to 1 wound that has been allocated to the caster for each mortal wound inflicted by this spell that is not negated.

COMMAND ABILITIES

Supreme Lord of the Undead: Nagash is the undisputed master of all undead creatures.
You can use this command ability in your hero phase if this model is on the battlefield. If you do so, until your next hero phase, you can re-roll hit rolls of 1 for attacks made by friendly DEATH units, you can re-roll save rolls of 1 for attacks that target friendly DEATH units, and do not take battleshock tests for friendly DEATH units.

FLY: Neferata can fly.

ABILITIES

Dagger of Jet: The dagger Akmet-har has been employed in many of Nulahmia’s most sordid blood rituals and is capable of killing with the merest scratch.

Dark Mist: At Neferata’s arcane command, tendrils of dark mist coil around her minions, rendering their corporeal forms as insubstantial as smoke.
Dark Mist has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast, pick 1 friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS unit wholly within 12" of the caster. Ignore negative modifiers when making save rolls for attacks that target that unit until your next hero phase.

COMMAND ABILITIES

Twilight’s Allure: Neferata cloaks her minions in a penumbral gloom, shrouding the progress of her insidious schemes until it is too late to halt them.

DESCRIPTION

A Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon is a single model armed with 1 of the following weapon options: Deathlance; or Vampiric Sword.

MOUNT: This model’s Zombie Dragon attacks with its Pestilential Breath, Snapping Maw and Sword-like Claws.

FLY: This model can fly.

ABILITIES

Pestilential Breath: When a Zombie Dragon looses its breath, the killing miasma withers flesh and saps life from the living.
When you attack with this model’s Pestilential Breath, roll a dice before making the hit roll for the attack. If the roll is less than or equal to the number of models in the target unit, the attack scores a hit without needing to make a hit roll.

Deathlance Charge: A Deathlance can inflict hideous wounds when wielded with sufficient momentum.
Add 2 to the Damage characteristic of this model’s Deathlance and improve the Rend characteristic of that weapon by 1 if this model made a charge move in the same turn.

MAGIC

Curse of Exsanguination: Speaking an incantation from the Sixth Book of Nagash, the vampire commands an enemy’s blood to violently burst from their body.
Curse of Exsanguination has a casting value of 6. If successfully cast, pick 1 enemy unit within 18" of the caster that is visible to them. That unit suffers 1 mortal wound. If that mortal wound is allocated to a model in that unit and not negated and that model is not slain by that mortal wound, you can roll a dice. On a 4+, that model suffers 1 mortal wound, and you can roll another dice if that mortal wound is allocated and not negated and the model is not slain. DESCRIPTION

A Zombie Dragon is a single model armed with Pestilential Breath, a Snapping Maw and Sword-like Claws.

Horror Unending: The never-ending waves of deathly minions summoned by the Legion of Shyish shatter all hopes of victory for those who stand against them.
Do not roll a dice to determine the number of wounds healed or models returned by the Deathly Invocation battle trait for a friendly SOULBLIGHT GRAVELORDS SUMMONABLE unit in this battalion. Instead, you can heal up to 3 wounds allocated to that unit or, if no wounds are allocated to it, you can return a number of slain models to that unit that have a combined Wounds characteristic of 3 or less.

BATTALIONS

This warscroll battalion can be used in the following warscroll battalions:
 • Legion of Shyish

ABILITIES

The Blood is the Life: Those who bear the Soulblight curse constantly crave fresh gore. When many such creatures gather, their bloodthirsty excesses are horrific to behold.
In your hero phase, you can heal up to D3 wounds allocated to each unit in this battalion.
11.1 Charge Moves
When you attempt a charge with a unit, make a charge roll for the unit by rolling 2D6. You can then make a charge move with each model in that unit by moving the model a distance in inches that is equal to or less than the charge roll. The first model you move in a unit attempting a charge must finish the move within 1/2" of an enemy unit. If this is impossible, no models in the unit can make a charge move.

You do not have to pick a target for a charge attempt before making the charge roll.
14.5 Mortal Wounds
Some attacks, spells and abilities cause mortal wounds. Do not make hit, wound or save rolls for mortal wounds. Instead, the damage inflicted on the target is equal to the number of mortal wounds that were caused.

Mortal wounds caused while a unit is attacking are allocated at the same time as wounds caused by the unit’s attacks: after all of the unit’s attacks have been made. Mortal wounds caused at other times are allocated as soon as they are caused. Mortal wounds are allocated in the same way as wounds and are treated in the same manner as wounds for rules purposes.

8.1 Normal Move
When you pick a unit to make a normal move, you can move each model in that unit a distance in inches equal to or less than the Move characteristic shown on the unit’s warscroll. Units cannot move within 3" of enemy units when making a normal move.
22.3.1 Mounts, Companions and Crew
Sometimes the description on a warscroll will say whether the models in the unit have mounts, companions or a crew. When a model attacks, its mount, companions and crew attack too, and when the model is removed from play, its mount, companions and crew are removed too. For rules purposes, companions and crew are treated in the same manner as mounts.
9.4 Flying
If the warscroll used by a model says that it can fly, you can ignore other models and terrain features when you trace the path of its move across the battlefield (it flies over them). In addition, when a model that can fly starts or finishes a move on a terrain feature, instead of tracing its move across the battlefield, you can trace it ‘through the air’, as shown in the diagram below.

A flying model cannot finish a move on top of another model or finish a normal move, run or retreat within 3" of an enemy unit.
14.4 Healing Wounds
Some abilities allow you to heal wounds that have been allocated to a model. For each wound that is healed, reduce the number of wounds allocated to the model by 1, to a minimum of 0. You cannot heal wounds on a model that is slain.
19.1 Casting Spells
In your hero phase, you can attempt to cast spells with friendly WIZARDS. You cannot attempt to cast the same spell more than once in the same hero phase, even with a different WIZARD. In order to attempt to cast a spell, pick a friendly WIZARD, say which of the spells that they know will be attempted, and then make a casting roll by rolling 2D6. If the casting roll is equal to or greater than the casting value of the spell, the spell is successfully cast.
Wound Roll
Roll a dice. If the roll equals or beats the attacking weapon’s To Wound characteristic, the attack wounds the target and your opponent must make a save roll. If not, the attack fails and the attack sequence ends. An unmodified wound roll of 1 always fails and an unmodified wound roll of 6 always wounds. A wound roll cannot be modified by more than +1 or -1 (this is an exception to the principle that abilities take precedence over core rules).
13.1.2 Combat Attacks
When a friendly unit fights, you must make combat attacks with all of the melee weapons the models in the unit are armed with that they are allowed to use (including melee weapons used by the unit’s mounts, if there are any).

The target of a combat attack must be within a number of inches of the attacking model equal to the Range characteristic of the weapon being used to make the attack (the target does not have to be visible).

Save Roll
Your opponent rolls a dice, modifying the roll by the attacking weapon’s Rend characteristic. If the roll equals or beats the target unit’s Save characteristic, the target is saved and the attack sequence ends. If not, the attack is successful and you must determine the damage that is inflicted on the target. An unmodified save roll of 1 always fails. A save roll cannot be modified by more than +1 (this is an exception to the principle that abilities take precedence over core rules).

Designer’s Note: Save rolls do not always succeed on an unmodified roll of 6, and they can be modified by more than -1.

8.2 Retreat
When you pick a unit to retreat, you can move each model in that unit a distance in inches equal to or less than the Move characteristic shown on the unit’s warscroll. The unit must end the move more than 3" from all enemy units. You cannot shoot or attempt a charge later in the turn with a unit that has retreated.
14.1 Allocating Wounds
Wounds are allocated to the models in a unit 1 wound at a time. You can allocate the wounds caused to your units as you see fit. However, once you have allocated a wound to a model, you cannot allocate wounds to other models in the unit until that model is slain (see 14.2). If a unit is destroyed, all wounds that remain to be allocated to the unit are negated and have no effect.

The RADUKAR THE WOLF keyword is used in the following Soulblight Gravelords warscrolls:

14.2 Slain Models
Once the number of wounds allocated to a model equals its Wounds characteristic, the model is slain and you cannot allocate any more wounds to it. A slain model is removed from play (see 1.2.2) after all of the wounds caused to its unit have been allocated and all attacks that inflicted damage on the unit have been resolved.
Hit Roll
Roll a dice. If the roll equals or beats the attacking weapon’s To Hit characteristic, the attack scores a hit and you must make a wound roll. If not, the attack fails and the attack sequence ends. An unmodified hit roll of 1 always fails and an unmodified hit roll of 6 always hits. A hit roll cannot be modified by more than +1 or -1 (this is an exception to the principle that abilities take precedence over core rules).

Sometimes an ability will allow a single hit roll to score two or more hits. If this is the case, make all of the wound and save rolls for those hits at the same time.

3.1 Reserve Units and Summoned Units
Sometimes a rule will allow you to set up a unit in a location other than the battlefield as a reserve unit. A unit that is added to your army once the battle is underway is called a summoned unit.

When you set up a reserve unit, either during deployment or once the battle is underway, you must tell your opponent that the unit is in reserve and keep it to one side instead of placing it on the battlefield. At the start of the fourth battle round, units that are still in reserve are destroyed. Units cannot cast spells or use abilities while they are in reserve unless the spell or ability specifically says it can be used by reserve units.

Reserve units are picked as part of your army before the battle begins, while summoned units are units added to your army once the battle is underway. Models that have been removed from play can be used as part of a summoned unit.

19.3.2 Dispelling Endless Spells
At the start of the hero phase, each player can attempt to dispel 1 endless spell with each friendly WIZARD and friendly PRIEST. The player whose turn is taking place makes all of their dispelling attempts first. If a WIZARD attempts to dispel an endless spell, they can attempt to cast or unbind 1 fewer spell in that hero phase. If a PRIEST attempts to dispel an endless spell, they can chant 1 fewer prayer in that hero phase. The same player cannot attempt to dispel the same endless spell more than once per phase.

To attempt to dispel an endless spell, pick 1 endless spell that is within 30" of a friendly WIZARD or friendly PRIEST and that is visible to them. Then make a dispelling roll by rolling 2D6. If the roll is greater than the casting value of that endless spell, it is dispelled and removed from play. An endless spell cannot be summoned again in the turn that it is removed from play.
19.1.2 Unbinding Spells
If a spell is successfully cast, your opponent can pick 1 of their WIZARDS that is within 30" of the caster to attempt to unbind the spell before its effects are applied. In order to attempt to unbind a spell, first say which WIZARD will attempt to unbind it. Then make an unbinding roll by rolling 2D6. If the unbinding roll is greater than the roll used to cast the spell, then the spell is unbound and its effects are not applied. The number of spells a WIZARD can attempt to unbind is noted on their warscroll. Only 1 unbinding attempt can be made for each spell.

Arcane Bolt
The caster calls forth a ball of crackling arcane energy that hovers above their outstretched hand, ready to be hurled at a foe.
Arcane Bolt is a spell that has a casting value of 5 and a range of 12". If successfully cast, at the start of any 1 phase before your next hero phase, you can pick 1 enemy unit within range and visible to the caster. That unit suffers 1 mortal wound. If that unit is within 3" of the caster, it suffers D3 mortal wounds instead of 1.
Mystic Shield
The caster conjures up a shield of shimmering energy to protect themselves or an ally from harm.
Mystic Shield is a spell that has a casting value of 5 and a range of 12". If successfully cast, pick 1 friendly unit wholly within range and visible to the caster. Add 1 to save rolls for attacks that target that unit until your next hero phase.
6.1 Using Command Abilities
To use a command ability, you must spend 1 command point, pick 1 friendly model to issue the command, and pick 1 friendly unit to receive the command. Unless noted otherwise, the models that can issue commands and the units they can issue them to are as follows:
  • Unit champions can issue commands to their own unit (see 22.3.2).
  • HEROES can issue commands to units that are wholly within 12" of them.
  • Generals can issue commands to units that are wholly within 18" of them.
  • TOTEMS can issue commands to units that are wholly within 18" of them.
Each command ability will say when it can be used and what effect it has on the unit that receives it. A model cannot issue more than 1 command in the same phase and a unit cannot receive more than 1 command in the same phase. In addition, you cannot use the same command ability more than once in the same phase (even for different units).
12.2 Pile In
You can move a model making a pile-in move up to 3". When you make a pile-in move with a model, it must finish the move no further from the nearest enemy unit than it was at the start of the move.

8.3 Run
When you pick a unit to run, you must make a run roll for the unit by rolling a dice. Add the run roll to the Move characteristic of all models in the unit until the end of that phase. You can then move each model in that unit a distance in inches equal to or less than their modified Move characteristic. No part of a run can be within 3" of an enemy unit. You cannot shoot or attempt a charge later in the turn with a unit that has run.

15.1 Battleshock Tests
You must make a battleshock roll for each friendly unit that has to take a battleshock test. To make a battleshock roll, roll a dice and add the number of models in the unit that were slain in that turn to the roll. If the battleshock roll is greater than the unit’s Bravery characteristic, the battleshock test has been failed. If the test is failed, for each point by which the battleshock roll exceeds the unit’s Bravery characteristic, 1 model in that unit must flee. You decide which models flee. A model that flees is removed from play.

If a slain model is returned to its unit in the same turn that it is slain, it still counts as having been slain in that battle round for the purposes of battleshock tests.
1.5.5 Dice Roll Modifiers
Sometimes a modifier will apply to a dice roll. Modifiers are applied after re-rolls. Rules that refer to an unmodified roll are referring to the dice roll after re-rolls have been made but before modifiers are applied. If a rule instructs you to pick or change a roll, do so after re-rolls are made but before modifiers are applied.

In most cases, modifiers are cumulative. However, some dice rolls, such as hit and wound rolls, will specify that the roll cannot be modified by more than +1 or -1. When this is the case, add up all the modifiers that apply, and if the total is more than +1 or -1, treat it as being either +1 or -1 as appropriate.
